  • We are hiring a Female Coding Teacher who is:

    •Experienced in coding, computer science background is preferred, but we don’t require a degree or any specific qualifications, we just want to see enthusiasm and evidence that you are confident in coding

    •Creative, enjoys working with young people (16-19), and able to lead engaging, fun sessions

    DBS is desired but not mandatory (we can arrange this)

    Please note: This is a temporary position, Pay (£15-20/hr)

    Required:

    •Female

    •Coding experience in Python, HTML & CSS, and Javascript (details outlined above)

    •Available to deliver 30 hours of in-person teaching during the summer (22nd July onwards, either 3 hours Mon-Fri for 2 weeks OR 5 hours 2x a week for 3 weeks)

     What will you be doing?

    •Deliver a 30-hour coding programme for young people during the summer holidays (w/c 20th July)

    •Introduce fundamental coding concepts in an accessible, beginner-friendly format (please note that all lesson plans and learning materials e.g. mini projects, slideshows, will be provided via Raspberry Pi, you will have access to the online platform and have the opportunity to select which projects you would like to deliver).

     Which topics will you cover?

    Python:

    •Variables and data types

    •Input and output

    •Loops and conditionals

    •Functions

    •Simple problem-solving exercises and mini-projects

    HTML & CSS

    •Understanding how websites are built

    •Creating headings, paragraphs, images, links, and lists

    •Structuring web pages

    •Introduction to accessibility and good web design practices

    •Styling web pages

    •Colours, fonts, spacing, and layouts

    •Responsive design basics

    •Creating visually engaging websites

    •Learning resources)

    JavaScript

    •Variables and basic programming concepts
