All courses are delivered with our signature Beyond the Bias support and personalised guidance, so you're never navigating it alone.

✅ Who is this for?

You are eligible if:

• You are aged 19 or over (by 31 August 2025)

• You live in London

• You are unemployed, receiving benefits, or on a low income (below £27k annually)

• This is your first time enrolling in a free course through Beyond the Bias

Please note: If you completed one of our free courses last year (such as numeracy, digital skills or another pathway), you will not be eligible to enrol again this year.

🥁 Brazilian Drumming is Back – Join Us at Poplar Union!

We’re excited to announce that Drums Around the World: Brazilian Drumming is returning for a second year at Poplar Union Café.

Led by the brilliant SuperNovae, these sessions explore the vibrant rhythms of Brazilian percussion, including Samba Reggae, Samba Afro, Ijexá, Maracatu, Samba Batucada and Funk. The programme is open to beginners and anyone curious about rhythm, culture, and making music together.

Each Saturday we run two sessions, so you can choose the one that suits you best:

👨‍👩‍👧 Family Session
🕛 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
A welcoming space for families and younger participants to take part together.

🎧 Individual Session
🕜 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
For young people (14+) and adults who want to take part independently and explore rhythms in a slightly more focused session.
