🥁 African Drumming is Back – Join Us at Poplar Union!
We’re excited to announce that Drums Around the World: Africa Drumming is returning for a second year at Poplar Union Café.
Led by the brilliant SuperNovae, these inclusive sessions explore the vibrant rhythms of West African drumming, including traditional rhythms played on Djembe and Dundun. The programme is open to beginners and anyone curious about rhythm, culture, and making music together. Participants will also discover the cultural significance and community role of West African drumming. No experience is required — just a love of music and connection.
Each Saturday we run two sessions, so you can choose the one that suits you best:
👨👩👧 Family Session
🕛 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
A welcoming space for families and younger participants to take part together.🎧 Individual/Adult Session
🕜 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
For young people (14+) and adults who want to take part independently and explore rhythms in a slightly more focused session.📅 Programme Dates
