Media, Publicity & Privacy at Beyond the Bias

At Beyond the Bias, we love celebrating the creativity and achievements of the young people we work with. But we also take your privacy, safety, and consent seriously.

How We Use Images

We sometimes take photos or videos at our events, workshops, and creative programmes. These may be used to:

  • Share what we do on our website or social media

  • Promote future opportunities to schools and partners

  • Appear in reports, youth-led campaigns, or funding updates

We will never:

  • Share your full name alongside your photo

  • Use any image without permission

  • Tag or identify you personally unless we’ve discussed it with you first

Consent at Sign-Up

Every time a young person signs up to one of our projects, our registration form will ask whether they (or their parent/carer) consent to the use of images or video.

This lets you decide upfront if you're happy for us to:

  • Use photos or video clips from sessions

  • Feature your work in our promotional content

  • Celebrate your creativity across our platforms

You can say no — or change your mind later. Just contact us at: info@beyondthebias.co.uk

Protecting Your Data (GDPR)

When you sign up to a Beyond the Bias programme, we may collect:

  • Emergency contact details

  • Medical or access needs

  • Media consent preferences

Your information is:

  • Stored securely

  • Only shared with staff and funders who need it to support you

  • Never sold or used for unrelated purposes

Your Rights

Everyone has the right to:

  • Say no to being photographed or filmed

  • Ask where and how their image will be used

  • Change their mind — even after giving consent

We’ll always check in and make sure you feel comfortable and respected. If anything ever feels off, let us know and we’ll sort it quickly and without fuss.
